Happy Thanksgiving

It's been a few weeks but I went to the trouble of uploading pictures so here is our Thanksgiving. We spent Thanksgiving with my family this year. Grandma Williams had brought the kids some coloring books. They were so good before dinner and were coloring together.

I didn't get a picture during the dinner. Dad is getting all the meat off the turkey after dinner.

After dinner Kara and I did the dishes while Nate and Jeremy watched football.

After everything was cleaned up we all played a game I think called Chinese Rummy. It was alot of fun. We took a break and had pie. I had made a pecan pie, Chocolate pie and banana cream pie. The banana cream pie was very yummy and sadly no leftovers. After pie it was dark and decided to get going because we were going up to Heber.

We continued our tradition of going shopping on Black Friday. This year was fun because Grandma Hooper came with us. Amber and Beth have never wanted to go to Walmart. I found everything I wanted at Walmart though so I begged them to go. It ended up not being bad and I got everything but one santa present there. We also went to Home Depot, Kmart, Shopko and Target. When we got back we started in on our craft. We also do a craft every year. We made these cute little pillowcase dresses. I had left my camera at my parents so I didn't get a picture.

Overall we had a good Thanksgiving. I am so very thankful for all of my family. They mean so much to me and I love them so much. I am also thankful for the friends that I have.

Polar Express

Friday night we got to go on the Polar Express. A lady in Beth's ward does the reading on the train. She had some tickets to give away for the rehearsal. It was alot of fun! I love history so it was fun to ride on a train and think what it was like back then. I thought it was funny that now days we think oh how fun and quaint to go on a train ride. Back then it was their way of transportation. Jeremy and I sat in the very last seat right next to the heat. The only thing I didn't like was the helpers were right behind us and they were really loud and kind of annoying. When it first starts out the elves hand out cookies and hot chocolate. About halfway through there is a reader that reads the story the Polar Express. At the end we sang alot of christmas songs.


Grandma Hooper came up early to spend Thanksgiving. She was so excited to be able to go on the train. Grandma and Sariah sat in front of Jeremy and I.


They had the luggage holders all decorated with lights and greenery. There was a very beautiful sunset when we started out.


Beth and Terry were on the same car but about halfway up the car. Emily liked going up to sit with them. Towards the end we sang alot of christmas songs. The reader and elves were by Beth and Terry and the reader said why don't we have Emily help us sing a song and one of the elves held her during the song.


Santa Claus came on board and handed to all of the children a jingle bell. The elves came around and told each kid which reindeer it came from. Sariah's came from Comet.


There was also Mrs. Claus. Sariah enjoyed seeing her saying she had never seen her before.

Pumpkin Land

While Brendon and Jenni were here for Kara's wedding Emily and I went to Pumpkinland with them the following Monday. It was alot of fun to do something with them. We had to leave early though to pick Sariah up from early out school.





I also volunteered to go with Sariah's class to pumpkinland. I had Sariah and two other kids in our group. They were very good and fun to be with. Here are some pics.

Kara's Wedding

Kara was married to Nate Winters on October 9, 2009. They were sealed for all time and eternity in the Timpanogas temple. It was a bright beautiful day. This is them coming out of the temple after their ceremony. So cute!! The night before we had a wedding dinner at the Golden Corral. It was very nice and fun. Some of us said things we remembered about each of them. I said something and of course being me was trying not to cry!

Kara chose her sister and sister-in-laws to be her bridemaids. She bought cute brown dresses.

School Carnival

Yesterday Sariah had a school carnival. We went for a little while and had alot of fun. Sariah played alot of games. She even played some games that were a little harder. One she did was you needed to kick the soccer ball around these cones and then through the goalie. I'm proud that she wants to try harder things. She did a cupcake walk and there were two other kids that were there for awhile and hadn't one. Sariah got in and she won right off. It was funny. While we were leaving there was a little girl hula hooping and she was calling Sariah's name. The other day after school we went to the park next to her school. There were two boys swinging and they were calling her name and said we're glad our friend is here to play! Another time we were going to school and walking up to the playground next to her classroom and there was an empty swing by this girl. A boy was going to swing and the girl said no that it for Sariah! It makes a parent feel good that other kids like their kid!!

Kara's Bridal Shower

My little sister is getting married in a couple of weeks! I'm so happy for her!! I'm glad that she has found someone and I hope that she loves being married as much as I do! Here are a couple of pics from her shower.

This is the table we displayed the gifts on.


This was the refreshment table. We had mini eclairs, veggies and strawberrys. Kim made these good little sandwiches that were egg salad on one layer and I think strawberry cream cheese on another layer. She also got the tableclothes. I loved the color!!

This is what I did for Kara's gift. My mom and I bought 2 towels, 2 hand towels and 2 washclothes. I rolled them up and decorated it to look like a wedding cake. I thought it turned out really cute and was quite proud of myself!!

My Collection

This is my salt and pepper collection. I love all different kinds of them. I only collect the ones that I think are cute though. So not just any.

This is the cutest set I have received so far. It's a way cute pea pod salt and pepper shaker. I love it!! My long time good friend Angie gave me this for my birthday this year.

This is my most memorable set. My Grandma Williams gave these to me. I remember them from when I was a little girl and I loved them then too.

Hair Cuts

I finally got tired of their long hair and took them to Evan's Hairstyling to have it cut. Emily throws huge temper tantrums when I try to do her hair and I have to hog tie her down. This was actually Emily's first haircut. She was so scared. She wouldn't sit down on the chair or have me hold her. And she didn't like the apron. It took three people to do it. Two were entertaining her and one was cutting. I was really pleased cuz the manager came over and had her sit on the floor and was just talking to her to make her feel comfortable. I really wish I had my camera but I had forgotten it. I'm really sad now because I have no more baby. Emily is potty trained now except for the occasional accident of not getting on the potty on time. Her haircut also cut off all of her baby hair.

This is Sariah's hair after. I've cut it short once before and she never said anything about it. This time though she said she likes it short and doesn't have to put a twist in her hair.

First Day of School

Ok so I'm so behind on all I've wanted to blog. Maybe I will get around to it eventually. So I will start with the most recent.

Today was the first day of Sariah's Kindergarten. Last night we went to a back to school night and met her teacher and saw her classroom. She attends the afternoon class. We walked to school together around 12. I'm thinking if I walk her to school everyday that should help me lose weight! :) yeah! I didn't cry when she left though. I think I had spent all my tears on an emotional breakdown a few nights before. I was kind of annoyed though. It was so so hot and they made the kids stand in line for 15 or more minutes. Sariah started getting grouchy saying she wanted water and sitting on the ground. I can't believe I have a kid in school!! It seems like yesterday when we moved into this house and she was 1 1/2 and thought oh she'll be going to that school. Now she is. Time goes so fast! She is very excited to be going to school and loves to learn. On the way to school everyone we passed she said, "I'm starting school today!" I hope she continues to love school cuz she has alot of year ahead of her!

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day this year we went with Beth and Terry to the Santaquin Cemetary. Grandma Shoemaker's mother, Clara King grew up there. Her relatives are buried in that cemetary. Here are some pics and a little bit of history.
