My Garden and Yard

This year we finally got a garden in.  Last spring it was so wet and we kept forgetting to borrow the in-laws tiller so we didn't get one in.  The year before that I went on bed rest so the garden went to pot.  I have this thing with not all my seeds coming up in the row.  I don't know if it's because the seeds are old or what.  I've been reading a lot of pioneer books lately and they always talk about big gardens and I just wonder if they ever had the same problem.  The picture below is my row of beans.  I am very proud of this row because every seed actually sprouted!  I bought them this year and all of my other seeds last year.  Do you see my pea row?  What you don't see the peas?  Yes I can't get peas to grow.  My older wiser brother who is a much better gardener told me peas hate the sun.  Oops.  I guess that's why the pea Sariah planted in the shade looks a whole lot better than any of my peas!   I have some cherry tomatoes growing and I'm so excited to eat them!

Our backyard is fairly big and it doesn't have a single tree so we bought and planted one.  I'm very happy that it has not died yet.  I can't wait to see it in the fall.  From the tag I assume the leaves will turn a bright red.

Preschool Graduation

Emily graduated from preschool!  I am so proud of her.  I'm so glad that she was able to go to preschool because she learned and grew a lot over the year.  Her teacher was so awesome and we will miss her so much!  I took a lot of pictures but I'm not so good with my camera and some of them were out of focus.  Also by the end I had just given up with TJ and let him run around.  At the first they went through all the kids and they said their name and what they liked about school.  Emily said she liked library and play time.

Everyone received an award.  Emily's was The Sweet to Hear Your Voice Award.  At the beginning of the school year she was really shy and didn't talk hardly at all.  When she did talk it was so soft that they had to get up close to hear her.  By about March/April she was not shy anymore and talking all the time.  The teacher mentioned this to me at one point and said now I can't get her to stop talking to her friend in class.  I thought it was funny.

The girl in the white dress is the one she talked with in class.  They were really good friends and the teacher said wherever they went they held hands.

There were a couple of cute videos of songs she did but they are not uploading.  One of them was hilarious and I was cracking up through the whole video.  I love my little Emily so much and can't believe how fast she is growing.  She's still my baby!
