Setting up the Christmas Tree

This year we put our tree up the Sunday after Thanksgiving.  I think that's the earliest we have ever done it.  It was so nice having the girls older and doing a big part of it.  I was worried about TJ with the tree.  He has done ok though.  There are no ornaments on the bottom half.  I was also wondering about the presents underneath the tree.  My mom came over one day to watch them for a little bit.  She asked me how he was with the presents and I told her he hadn't even touched them once.  While I was gone though of course he touched every single present! lol :)

Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving with the Shoemakers.  We went up Wednesday morning and stayed until Sunday morning.  It was a nice relaxing vacation.  I think it was the first time that TJ was not sick up there.  It was so nice having him talk, play and go around like a healthy baby!  The Tuesday before Thanksgiving TJ had ear tubes put in his ears.  He just gets ear infection after ear infection.  Thursday night Jason's family and Josh's family came up.  We girls did our usual tradition of Black Friday shopping.  We went to Walmart at 10 pm and then we went down the canyon to Target for the 12 pm opening.  Walmart was super crazy but I got what I wanted!  Target we waited in line outside for like an hour and then waited another hour in the check out line.  I wasn't too impressed with Target's ad.  I hated these new opening times.  We just wore out faster.  We usually got to three or four stores but this time we only went to two.  After Target we were just dead.  We got home about 2:30 am.  On Friday we did a cute little paper bag craft and sewed some pillow cases.  I think I can almost do a pillow case without messing up several times!!  Here are a few pics.  It is so funny to watch TJ on the horse.  He loves it!  He loves to bounce himself up and down on it.

Halloween

This year since Halloween was on a Monday Jeremy was not able to go Trick or Treating with us. :(  He works his second job on Monday and Tuesdays.  He was so sad he couldn't be there.  We went to my mom's to go trick or treating.  When we first got there my dad was playing Christmas music!  I said dad is that Christmas music and he said yes it is.  I said I loved it.  He gave me a hug and said well thank you!  This year since we've been tight on money I was dreading Halloween because of doing costumes.  Sariah is so much more creative than me though.  She said she wanted to be Frankenstein and that she could wear her black pants and just get a shirt and some makeup.  I got a black shirt for $1 at Walmart.  Then I was so happy to see there was a kit just for Frankenstein makeup.  I had a witch costume but it was all black and Emily wouldn't wear it saying she wanted to be a good witch.  Thank goodness it had pink in it so it was considered good! :)  TJ was a Kangaroo.  I bought the costume at a yard sale and Emily wore it once when she was little.  He was soooo adorable I couldn't stand it!  We came home and I took them to a few houses in our neighborhood.  They had a lot of fun and got a lot of candy.

Preschool Halloween Parade

Emily was a "good" witch.  She is with one of here teacher Miss Linda.

Baird Halloween Party

My mom always has a Halloween party for everyone.  We have dinner and carve our pumpkins.  She also always has fun little games to play.  I love my mom!

2nd Grade Halloween Program

Sariah had a Halloween program at school.  I cry every time!  She's getting so old!  She was Frankenstein.  They were singing the sond five little pumpkins and she was one of the little pumpkins.

UEA

Jeremy took UEA off so we could do something.  We didn't really have any money to do anything but Beth was in Texas with baby Bradley so Terry wanted to do something.  He was so great to us for UEA!  On Thursday he let Jeremy and I go on long overdue date.  We went to  Mi Rancheritos.  Then we walked around the mall and went to Burlington Factory and Barnes and Noble.  Before we had kids we always went window shopping together and enjoyed it.  With kids needless to say we don't do it anymore.  On Friday we headed down to the sand dunes.  On the way we stopped at the Family Tree Restaurant.  The girls had fun playing in the sand going for rides.  The night was kind of rough though.  Emily kept waking up and it was really cold.  I had the worst heartburn I have ever had all night long.  A couple days before all this fun I took TJ to the doctor and he had ear infections.  He always throws up when he gets them but thank goodness he only threw up once on the way home.  TJ was also really funny.  The girls would be playing in the sand but TJ would be over by the four wheelers and his dada and his grandpa!  I took some pictures while we were there.  Unfortunately my camera does not work very well anymore.  I will not be taking a camera to the sand dunes again!

TJ's First Birthday

TJ's birthday went well and I was so happy for all of the family that came.  I didn't know it until Jeremy told me but there was a BYU game that started at the same time.  I think all of the kids had a good time.  Beth helped me make little Halloween goodie bags.  Afterwards Jason and Josh and their families stayed to finish watching the BYU game.  It was a lot of fun hanging out with them.
